Dear Dr. Pipes,

On one hand, I agree with the use of the term "Islamists" as you have defined the enemy. However, the term "Islamic Fascists" seems to be more appropriate these days for the following reasons,

  1. to begin with, if the term "Islamic Fascists" offends CAIR more than "Muslim Terrorist" or "Islamists", then we are definitely on to a good thing.
  2. using the term "Islamic Fascists" gives a recognizable face to the enemy - Hitler, Stalin and other "Fascists", for example, who starved and killed millions of their own fellow Citizens; while using "Islamists" does not give the complete picture, end result as we can so clearly see with Hitler and Stalin's unbridled cruelty in old photos, movies and in print.
  3. using the "Islamic Fascists" definition of the enemy may also apply more now since there are actually Governments who are sponsoring the terrorism - i.e. Iran and Syria to Hezbollah. Its much harder to target a religion, given the freedoms that religion enjoys in the US and West. (But then, Religion as we know it does good deeds, defends the defenceless and promotes harmoney - Islam does not deserve to be given the same considerations as our traditional religions.)
  4. "Islamic Fascists" also seems to be a more fitting description when one considers the natural ascendance of Islamists into government positions as with Hamas, the Taliban, even the marriage of the House of Saud with the Wahhabi some 250 years ago...and then, what about the governments that are selling weapons to the Islamists, giving them nuclear capabilities, finances or other forms of support - North Korea, Russia, France, Pakistan, Saudi Arabia, to name a few. (Should this include the MSM, Reuters too? hmmm) All of these countries envy Americans/Westerners, if for no other reason than America/the West is more successful than them, for their cruel and crude regimes cannot function while freedoms exist or without creating an enemy to blame, scapegoat the Islamic Fascists cannot get away with their own mismanagement and cruelty.
  5. given how the meaning of words change in the English language, it seems only reasonable Islamic Fascists should be used choice.
  6. finally, the proponents of Islam and Sharia see themselves as anointed overseers of all institutions and peoples in their countries and now their egos are making them aim for the entire world.

...if President Carter had been firm, shown strength and confronted Iran in 1978-79 we would not have this problem today. He gave the whole thing legs by showing us all to be weak...now we are going to have to get really strong and literally throw out the rules until they admit defeat. Anything short of absolute defeat and the Islamic Fascists will claim victory as in Lebanon – this is why the Israel-Hezbollah “war” in the last month has only been one battle in the course of a much longer war.

(By the way, who’s the genius – the UN!? – that is allowing Hezbollah to deliver charitable goods and rebuilding grants to the Lebanese anyway? Come on people, are we trying to prove that we are complete baffoons!?)

...but please give me some feed back, whether pro or con.

Thanks for listening.
