Islamic Fascism

Reader comment on item: "At War with Islamic Fascists"

Islamic facism indeed has its roots in pre-W.W. II Nazism. The Mufti of Jeusalem spent the war in Berlin with Hitler. The Muslim Brotherhood in Egypt supported the Germans. The roots of the Baath party in Syria & Iraq was allied with the Germans. But, nonetheless, this has little relevance to todays problems. The problem is Islam itself not just confined to Islamic facsists - totalitarianism is mainstream Islam. Islam itself is a hostile ideology which sees all non-Muslims as the enemy. As with other ideologies, people have varying degrees of committment. So, the question is "can you be a moderate fascist?", can you be a moderate totalitarian?"

We used to call people "communist sympathizers" not always with any degree of precision. Nonetheless, the ideology itself was totalitarian. There were "Nazi sympathizers" all over the world prior to W.W. II also with varying degrees of committment but there is no doubt that the ideology itself was totalitarian. Islam is no different.
