Stephen Schwartz disagrees, too

Reader comment on item: "At War with Islamic Fascists"

Submitted by Dan Schwartz (Cherry Hill, NJ) (United States), Aug 16, 2006 at 12:45

Just today, Stephen Schwartz (no relation to me) also disagreed with your Monday article, "At War with Islamic Fascists" in an article of his entitled "What Is 'Islamofascism'?" Schwartz presents several compelling arguments comparing fascism to other extreme right-wing idealogies, comparing imperialistic, economic, totaliarian, paramilitary and other traits of Nazi vs Islamic fascism. [Although having studied the Klan at Georgia Tech, I disagree with him that they are a form of Christian fascism.]

More so than in the comment I posted in reply to your Monday editorial at <http://www.danielpipes.org/comments/52723>, I believe that Islamofascism is more hard-hitting and less wonkish than Islamism, because it is also much easier for the general public to wrap their arms around.

Yours truly,
Dan Schwartz
