Islamic Fascists & Islamo-Fascists. What's in a name?

I think the use of "Fascists" in their label is important because it puts the left, and especially the far-left in the media and academe on the defensive. If they were called Islamo-Marxists or some such, the left would pooh-pooh the label with their usual anti-anti-Communist rants. By calling them Fascists, the Islamists start to become part of the left's bete noir, and they will find it difficult to dispute. After all, what right-minded progressive could approve of Fascism after they've labelled every conceivable political enemy for the past sixty years with that title?
