Islamic fascism is the best term

Reader comment on item: "At War with Islamic Fascists"

1) The ideology is very similar to fascism with Islam replacing the state -- thus the term "fascism" is redefined as "Islamofascism" or "Islamic fascism", which is a modification of the original, preserving the aspects of totalitarian rule, etc., but differentiating that this is a variety of the ideology with Islam at the center. This is valid in my view.

2) The term "Islamists" does not capture the insidious nature of the ideology and therefore does not resound strongly enough with most Americans who have a strong association with the word fascism.

3) Using the word "Islamists" sounds too close to "Islamic" or "Islam" and does not clearly distinguish the group with the perverted ideology -- the term needs to clearly make this distinction. The PC police would go even more crazy with this term.

Good job Bush.
