Reader comment on item: White House Nonchalance toward the Middle East
in response to reader comment: THE DECLINE OF RELIGION

Submitted by harry (United Kingdom), Mar 26, 2006 at 10:08

tim bush above,... Do REALLY think we have "3 to 400 years" left to find out if religious zealotism will fade?

I rather think that the human race or what is left of it, will be hiding in caves and gone back to cannibalism. Can you show otherwise.
We have all got a "termination programme" hard wired into our DNA. Our chance was to raise our selves up out of the mire and take our place not as supplicants grovelling on the floor to some imagined god or other, but to transform ourselves into responsible creatures, able to maintain population and civilisation at a standard that will not just go pop as soon as we reach saturation point vis a vis human numbers in relation to our use of raw materials.

The ROP is no more helpful as an answer than was Roman polygeon. In fact it is probably the biggest factor in human decine as it is the bluprint for implosion of all science and civilised advances.
