I agree with your post except for one item, that is; you referred to secular Muslims. There is no person called a secular Muslim, either one is a Muslim who believes in the quran & the prophet Mohamed or not a Muslim at all.
Dr. Wafa Sultan said so on Aljazeera. She said she is secular individual - she did not say she is a secular Muslim.

...Islam is not compatible with any secular democracy. One sees the clash every day in every Western country... They will never reform, its only wishful thinking to imagine so.The hardest thing in the life of any Muslim may be realizing that Islam is a lie .But they could do nothing about it as the threat of death hangs over their head. ...
