Thank you for that polite response.

I don't disagree with your goal of getting people to realize there is indeed an Islamist threat. I primarily disagree with your contention regarding free speech.

You say, "The reason I don`t see the freedom of speech as universal is merely because it`s not universally recoqnized." But I would counter that, just because something is not universally accepted doesn't make it false. That thinking is rooted in the cultural relativism that is probably what got us into this mess in the first place, and what is preventing us from seeing our way out of it.

Of course, if you had just said that free speech is not something we should force on barbarians, or expect them to use properly, then I would have agreed. However, just becuase they are irresponsible doesn't mean that I have to adapt to their twisted world-view. We need to resist them on our terms, not theirs.

Unless we have a clear and unflenching vision of why the problem exists and how to solve it, we won't be able to, no matter what we say. Our determination has to at least equal theirs, and unfortunately as yet it still is not.

Also, it's good to hear that you are willing to defend yourself if need be, though I hope it doesn't come to that. But, after seeing what they are capable of in all their dealings with civilization, I don't see that they will give us much choice.
