For Once I agree

Reader comment on item: White House Nonchalance toward the Middle East

Submitted by Jack Lass (United States), Mar 22, 2006 at 11:33

Daniel: I've frequently disagreed with your stance on issues. However, I am in full agreement with this column. The latest (and late) NSS is just one more evidence, as if more were needed, of the essential incompetence of the Bush administration. One wonders what drives this pollyannaish view of what is happening around the world. I suspect that it is the influence of far right religious leaders and doctrinaire neocons on the President's alleged thinking. The U.S. has been and remains a great nation and should be a beacon of liberty. Instead, we are rapidly becoming that which we are fighting. As Pogo said: "We have met the enemy and he is us."
