Reader comment on item: White House Nonchalance toward the Middle East
in response to reader comment: THE DECLINE OF RELIGION

Wow, thanks for all of the responses...

As far as me and my wife go - we agreed our kids would be christian before we married... And converting to Islam - even though I didnt mean it - hurt a lot... I'll never forget that day in Cairo...

But here is what I see:
We (Christians) say that Christ is the Way and everyone that doesnt believe in him will not make the cut... Muslims say the same thing and Jews are still waiting around for Him to show up... Hindus and everyone else have their own thing...

Mathematically, that leaves 4.5 billion, according to us, not going to heaven (and much more according to every other religion since they are smaller)... There are some obvious inconsistencies, in every religion, that just dont hold up under logical and scientific scrutiny... For this reason, many people (in the future) will adopt a more "inclusive" view of God... And I can under stand why... I believe the idea of God will never go away - it is wired into us and here to stay... But the way we see God will definitely become less exclusive... It has too!!!... How can a deal with a Muslim if he's always trying to kill us!!...

One last thing, I also believe that our dating system has a maximum of 300 years... I bet that a dating system based on the birth of Christ will not hold up in a world of global inclusion... Its "offensive"!!!... Like Santa!!!...
