My dear friend, you fail to get the point...Nobody wants to be associated with wrongdoing, nobody wishes to ally themselves with evil...and certainly no human psychology can explain why any man would want to strap himself with dynamite and blow himself up at a wedding reception (radisson hotel, jordan)

What , i believe, has happened here is that the terrorists have taken advantage of the silence of the majority....The average moderate muslim would never dream of holding placards and lamely yelling "death to the americans".

Let me explain myself...my thoughts here may have appeared haphazard:
Just recently there was a woman in India who was raped by her father-in-law. The local muslim scholars felt that this nullified her marriage to her husband and must now live her father-in-law, treat her husband like her son and continue sexual relations with her father-in-law.

This of course was wrong..in islam , i believe what is wrong and unlawful can never nullify what is right and pure..in this case her unfortunate rape could not have nullified her marriage....yet, the muslim scholar took advantage of her silence and that of those around her as permission to issue whatever verdict he liked, whne the case was brought to him. But soon word spread and people came forward defendeing the right of the woman to remain wife to her husband and to see her rapist punished. This case caught the attention of the media and we now have a happily-ever-after story.

My point here is that it is majority that needs to speak up...their silence is not for lack of contempt against these practices (terrorist bombing) but rather a lack of enthusiasm which i cannot fathom.

I have heard enough of my muslim friends sigh over news headlines about suicide bombings but they seem to lack initiative.
All they need is inspiration and then the years of bottled up frustation against those who have used thier religion to carry out unspeakble crimes will flow out.
All they need is inspiration.
