Slavery in the "Modern" world

Reader comment on item: Arabian Sex Tourism
in response to reader comment: Why do you people centre on Muslims ?

Submitted by Dave (United States), Mar 31, 2008 at 22:38

My dear deluded friend, people in general tend to centre their vitriol on Islam in regard to slavery because it has institutionalized the heinous act. In an era when the other major religions have condemned it, Muslims defend slavery.

In regard to "us," if you mean the infidels then I must agree with you. We are not clean in regard to the subject. Russians enslave Eastern European women and ship them around the world. Hindus still practice slavery in their marital traditions. The Chinese, who I consider the scum of the earth, have enslaved their own people for thousands of years and continue to do so. Thailand, Indonesia, the Philipines, and virtually all the African nations are rife with slavery. And perhaps they all have institutionalized it to some degree, but not to extent that Islam has done.

I regard Islam as a mortal enemy to mankind, so any defense of its debauchery, usually propagated by fuddle-headed Christians and cowardly humanists will draw my ire. I hope you and your fellow apologists will correct your mistake before you all find yourselves in chains.
