in response to reader comment: child abuse in islam , hurts the kids and the society

You might not be surprised to hear that child abuse, violation of women's rights, sexual and physical abuse of women, rape, homicide etc etc is just as rampant in the U.S. as anywhere else. :). I think these are issues that concern all the societies, not only the Muslims. :) The few clerics etc give a bad name to Christianity. Those Americans that violate human rights give a bad name to the U.S. Pakistanis do to Pakistan. Indians to India.

A handful of Arabs are a stain on all the rest of the Middle East. Women are sold into sex slavery in China. Brides are 'mailed' from other countries to the U.S. Genital mutilation is no news in Africa. The list goes on. I think things are getting worse and worse in some cases even with the advancement in science, technology, education, and what not. Human beings are a confused and lost lot now.

So many contradictions. So much hatred. Slavery was abolished. Racism is still there, though in a very subtle manner. People are biased and prejudiced. It's a case of the world, not of one particular nation. And faith is definitely not the culprit. :)
