I'm not surprised

Reader comment on item: Arabian Sex Tourism

This isn't surprising. Wherever wealthy Gulf Arabs go, they're the biggest playboys around. Further, while Islam touts its high morality, there is nothing plainer from the supposed ethics of the Qu'ran and Hadith than a pandering to the baser instincts of males. Doubtless the Muslim jurisprudents long ago worked out a number of technicalities whereby Muslim men away from home could enjoy themselves while maintaining a fictitious morality. Genesis may show the biblical patriarchs as polygamists, but it is also honest about their family problems, and, as the greatest Bible commentator of them all (M'shiach himself, to some of us) said, the biblical pattern of marriage was set in Eden--one man and one woman.

It's interesting as well that much of the erotic poetry of the Islamic world moons over the, umm, er, "moons" of boys as well. Hence, the scandals of mullahs in some of Pakistan's medressahs abusing their charges aren't all that surprising, either.
