Silence is a weapon too

Reader comment on item: [Beslan Atrocity:] They're Terrorists - Not Activists

Submitted by James.R.Edwards (United States), Aug 25, 2005 at 09:01

During the past weeks I have listened to and read many comments regarding the recent bombings in London, each time I cringe as I listen because the thread of the articles and interviews highlights the total lack of understanding of the problem, So many talking heads ect only adds to the weight of credibilty being heaped upon these murderers and gives rise to the thought that these so called experts have such expertly short memories.

The current collapse of the IRA's campaign of terror is in the main the result of the almost total silence maintained against their activities, they were starved of publicity, and eventually when they realised that their losses did not equal the publicity for there so called cause they were left with no alternative but to come to the table and talk sensibly about the situation in Northern Ireland, Now and only now after so many needless deaths is there a chance for them to gain legitimate recognition for their claim.

Silence is the only weapon these misguided murderers really fear for what is the point of sacrificing your life to a cause if not a soul ever hears your name.
