Reader comment on item: [Beslan Atrocity:] They're Terrorists - Not Activists

Submitted by Dr. Bill Hayes (United States), Sep 7, 2004 at 19:54

In talking to a Liberal friend of mine, I was astonished with his reply to an idea I had of sending in armed civilians to guard the local school against a possible (albeit slim indeed) attack on our children. He said: "I don't want to live in fear, and I don't want our children frightened either." I replied: "We are at War here. . .Fear is an unavoidable part of war, but the only thing to fear is fear itself." He reiterated his comment and stopped talking to me.

America needs to WAKE UP. It appears that a very large percentage of our population is so against war that they even deny its existence. These are the same mentally deranged people that spat on our returning Vietnam Vets, and it appears that we are going to have to save their cowardly butts again! (Not a concept that really appeals to me!)

Your article is acccurate to a "T." But simply complaining about the problem is not going to make it go away. There must be some kind of action that enlightened journalists can take to correct this deliberate falsification of the news. Don't you guys have some kind of a Union or something?
