So you would define as terrorist anyone the Israelis shoot?

Reader comment on item: [Beslan Atrocity:] They're Terrorists - Not Activists

Submitted by Samuel (United States), Sep 9, 2004 at 19:17

Calling someone a terrorist washes away any political motive. It is too easy and dogmatic to call everyone a terrorist; and not entirely accurate. Nor is it just to assume that any 'militant' the Israelis arrest is necessarily a terrorist. How many civilian deaths resulted from the US Bombing of Iraq? Is that terrorism? How about arresting militants, keeping them incarcerated for two years without an indictment, then letting them go free in their home country? Is that terrorism, or just a prudent policy to protect the homeland? How about the US revolutionary war, was that terrorism? What about labelling everyone a terrorist appeals to you?
