Reader comment on item: Arguing over "Can Islam Be Reformed?"
in response to reader comment: Start by modernizing the lecture of the Koran

We live in an age where times and ideas change much more quickly than we, as adults and parents, would sometimes like, however, that is where we are; and it is up to us as today's parents (and religious leaders) to provide suitable guidance to ensure that the tenets of our respective religions are correctly and accurately passed on to our children. I am neither Muslim nor Christian, but I do know that when the Christian religion was faced with this problem, the religious leaders of the Christian faith put aside their differences and produced " 'The Bible' the 'New Testament' ' ": perhaps it is now time for us to look at providing our children with " 'The Koran' the 'New Testament ' ". It is not the task of children to interpret holy writings, it is the task of parents to provide a suitable interpretation of their faith for their children to follow.

Thank you for reading.
