Reader comment on item: Arguing over "Can Islam Be Reformed?"

I disagree with Daniel Pipes's reply to 'Alter'. Of course Erdogan is a reliable authority when it comes to telling us how Islam sees itself. Using Erdogan's declaration about Israel being behind the Egyptian military coup to undermine his 'authority' on Islamist issues is beside the point. Erdogan's declaration does but one thing. It further highlights the essence of islam: lies and deception toward the West and their bottomless hatred of Israel.
