Reader comment on item: Bridges TV, a Wife's Beheading, and Honor Murder

Submitted by Ron Ahmed (United States), Feb 3, 2011 at 12:54

My intention is not to negate the urgency of reform in Muslim community. Women are treated as second class citizens in Arab and Muslim world. Islamic culture has a lot to do with how women are treated and perceived in the Islamic society. However, it is unfortunate how some of the posters here painted all Muslims with one brush. Never the less, I feel ashamed by the action of Muzzamil Hassan not because he was a Muslim or a Pakistani but because he was a man. Muzzamil is a man with a history of domestic violence against women. Women are subject to domestic violence all over the world. Domestic violence knows no color, creed, national origin or sexual orientation. Please read the following story of brutality inflicted by a white dude. I baffled, how can this happen in the US where we have a such a great culture which many of you patriotic posters are trying to protect!
