Thank you Mr Pipes for your time on this story, it was the best I found on the web.

Some facts on domestic violence :Domestic violence stats and the murder of women is interesting in case anyone wants to blame the American culture rather than seriously using this tragedy to examine domestic violence in their Islamic community.

A study in New York City found that over half of that city's domestic violence homicides were foreign-born and study in Washington DC showed that two-thirds of immigrant women were subjected to weekly physical or emotional abuse. Many are obviously afraid to seek help.

My reasons for quoting these facts is the fact that rarely do you see the Islamic community speak out about domestic violence. If you search their websites, they are full of stats on Western women, or using the US as the culprit. I would seriously like to see this case open some doors to exposing some truths and supporting Muslim women are are fearful due to their cultures.

Rather than quote all the rights of women afforded under Islam in an attempt to win over converts, how about quoting the facts on the reality of social issues that do exist, domestic violence being one!
