Jennifer,

I basically agree with your comment.

The reason I am commenting is, being impoverished or raised in third world does not necessarily mean someone should kill their wife/spouse.

You can still love your wife and don;t intend to harm her, even if you are living in third world.

also what is the definition of third world ? countries which are basically not fully participating in industrial revolution.

Love, dignity , taking care of family/children predates industrial revolution and is part of innate human dna. please travel to poorest (materially) areas in the world and you can see the love between parents, spouses and kids.

I am just tired of people using "third world" for all un related things and very carelessly.,

It is as if all things in third world are below human dignity, or it is like a big cesspool...

maybe just 3-4 centuries back most of the world is "third world" as per the current definition.

Material possessions or living in a industrial society is not a prerequisite for having peace/non violence as your guiding spiritual philosophy.

First off, thanks once again to Daniel Pipes for finding and presenting such information.

Mo Hassan is not some un-educated, brainwashed, impovershed victim of third-world upbringing in a Muslim country; yet all detailes point to this extremely brutal, barbaric event as an "honor killing", something so backward, something so shocking to find here in the U.S.

Somewhat disgusting is the statement posted on Bridges TV website - they are also "deeply shocked and saddened" at Mo Hassan's arrest?!!! The only thing more disgusting is that this animal is not charged with first-degree murder - what do the courts think beheading is like, sleeping pills?!!! If I was the prosecutor, I'd show video of one of the many beheadings carried out by Mo's paisan.
