Pearl Harbor was the excuse that we needed to get into World War II. WMD was the legal excuse we needed to invade Iraq. This war is much larger than just Iraq and/or Afghanistan. Iraq was actually a good choice seeing as it is primarily desert, an ideal environment for mechanized warfare.

The enemy that attacked the U.S. on 9/11 is the 'Nation of ' Islam. The Sovereignty of Islam was and is present within Iraq and throughout the region. (Including Turkey) This concept must be wiped out before the war will end. No 'religion' can muster an army to kick out 'occupiers'. Wars are fought for these reasons.

We don't want war. However, we are good at it. And this war has not yet begun.
