Whatever lesson you did get it was a wrong one. The correct lesson is that you're a failed nation, a bastardized race, an artificial state - in short a historical anachronism both with and without Islam!

Your Islam brought you on the verge of extinction that only a few stupid Western powers kept alive, the last in the series of these stupid powers - abused and cheated guarantors of Turkey's existence - is America. Kemal saved and revived this decaying Turkish corpse which should have long since been buried not to infect the living world. Now it turns out that Ataturkism and its jingoistic medication although it has prolonged the life of this corpse without stopping its internal decay is eventually also a dismal failure just like Islam was. Kemalism is another parody like Young Turkism which gave birth to Kemalism - with a hopefully tragic end.

But I am optimistic. After the failed experiment of modernity, Turkey badly needs a change! If the Turks want to come back to the Middle Ages, let them do it and the sooner, the better! Let the Turks cut throats to each other in their struggle for the restoration of medieval mentality ! It's much better than allowing them to massacre their neighbours in their traditional (Islamic and Kemalist) spirit and then permitting them to remain unpunished for all the crimes they have committed.
