I hope you only speak in the context of governing a goverment...
And from my point of view, it is not the religion of Abraham that caused havoc in our modern world. Rather, it is a group of people geared by hatred and fueled by fear that have an over-reacting greedy government and supporters..

geared by hatred, fueled by fear = because many of them was killed (remember what the romans, crusader, and nazis did?), and they didn't wan't that to happens again..

Allah did promise them the land, as it in their Taurat.. and as it is written in the Al-Quran on Al-Isra,103-104...(altough there's no exact gps cordinate)
the problem is that land, previously owned by the british (taken from the german), was promised by the brits as a bounty for the palestinian aid when fighting the nazi, but they made it a refugee site for jews..(not all palestinian at that time were muslims, some are christians and jews)
so.... the Palestinian and Jew(Israel) said it was a war for land and teritory...
(altough after decades of war and skirmishes, it turns to an escalating battle of revenge)
only the zionist and anyone that didn't knew it said it was religious war...

then came the terrorist and bush both said that if you're not with us, then you're the enemy and we wil crush you!!!
a sign of blatant absolute... and only a Sith deals with an absolute as Master Obi Wan Kenobi says :P
