Absolutely, but make full disclosure about Taraf UK

Reader comment on item: Crisis in Turkey
in response to reader comment: Another approach

Economist never identifies the Turkey correspondent. It is Amberin Zaman who is a Taraf writer, a newspaper that was formed just a few years ago and established itself as the one where all these supposed "top secret" military documents always show up. How? Who knows.

I understand Taraf was set up by some old-time leftists as a liberal newspaper and achieved notoriety or reputation, depending on who you ask, by consistently attacking the military and not the Islamists. Strange for liberal values but I forget AKP is not the conservative party but the liberal party! or was it the other way around?

It has never been clear how the newspaper is funded but some have suggested in the Turkish press that the funding is by Islamists or the Gulen organization. Leftists united with Islamists? Not new. Leftists collaborated closely with the Islamists in the 70s Iran to overthrow the Shah.
