in response to reader comment: Some questions to Dr. Pipes

Hi Debanjan, you are writing from India but I am not sure if you are indian. But let me tell you that Ataturk was an inspiration to all muslims and non-muslims in India and Pakistan, who was fighting against the British. So much so, Indian government sent appreciative gifts to Ataturk, who donated them to foundation in order to develop forests in steps of Ankara. Ataturk was a very religious man, but he was not a fundamentalist. He was a true believer of Islam, not some knockout version enforced to humanity by Arabs. And Ataturk was a humanist, so does the Turkish military. A humanist military is unprecedented in the world so nobody understands the military's stance. It is trying to protect the dignity to be human in turkey, while AKP is trying to slave Turks en mass. That's what the situation is. So you would better read about Ataturk before commenting around my dear friend. And Allah be with you.
