in response to reader comment: Not Real Moderates, Chris

There are moderates out there who have been active before and after 9/11. Check out the Zaytuna Foundation and the Institute for Interfaith Dialog as two good examples. Shaykh Hamza Yusuf of the Zaytuna Foundation probably does the best job I have seen of refuting Wahhabi scholars regarding the notion of constant Jihad until Muslims rule the Earth.

As for your examples, I know TONS of non-Muslim Americans who believe in those exact same conspiracy theories. Are they terrorists as well? Hell, even my Dad belives that crap. Is he a terrorist?

As for CAIR, I agree that their leadership is made up of a bunch of morons, but they are not Al-Qaeda. I've seen some of their flyers for modernizing mosques in America that go completely against wahhabi type ideals of how a mosque should be run. Nevertheless their leadership is very anti-Israel has done stupid stuff like fund raising for questionable Palestinian organizations. However they have done alot of good work in documenting hate crimes against Muslims, trying to modernize mosques, and speaking out for women's rights. Trust me, wahhabis hate CAIR. However yeah I agree their leadership are a bunch of morons. Still on a local level I've worked with them and they stayed far away from politics conscerning Israel and Palestinians. The work they were doing on a local level was all concerning local issues of Muslims such as harrassment, getting fired from jobs for refusing to remove their hijabs, and stuff like that.

As for Bush being the best leader possible? I'd have to totally disagree with you on that. I honestly believe that Bush Jr. will go down in history books as one of the worst Presidents in our history at until our next President compounds the mistakes made by Bush Jr.
