..and Israel's provocations?

Reader comment on item: [The Road Map:] Learning from Oslo

Submitted by Hicham (Czech Republic), Jun 11, 2003 at 18:47

Fine and dandy Mr. Pipes, but you fail to mention Israel's end of the deal since Oslo, who INCREASED settlement activity and continued its OWN brutal violence against the Palestinians. You rightly mention that 7 Israelis have been killed since the "roadmap". (though I fail to see how legitmate resistance against occupying SOLDIERS in one of the cases constitutes "murder").

Yet you fail to mention Israel's targeted assassinations, and bombing of civilians...I say ok, fine. As long as whatever standards you apply to the Palestinians ALSO apply to the Israelis and vice versa. (For example, did Israel also recognize Palestinians' permanent national rights in Oslo as your claim that the Palestinians only apparently did? Apply one standard to both sides: One of the most basic principle of ethics and justice. It couldn't be clearer.
