Peace???

Reader comment on item: [The Road Map:] Learning from Oslo

Submitted by Glenn Klotz (United States), Jun 10, 2003 at 13:20

Peace requires either the utter defeat of your enemy (Germany May 1945) or the internal collapse of the adversary (the Soviet Union 1991.) No real peace can happen with an enemy that has not either been defeated or has left the battle field in disarray. The Palestinians haven't been defeated nor have they left the battlefield. Sharon is merely going through the motions to please his friend GWB. He knows that the Pals have no intention of stopping there war for all of the land. Sooner or later Israel will be forced to drive the Pals off the land in a "real" war. This will happen after they form their state and are supplied with arms from all the surrounding Arab states. Arafat and his minions have posioned the well of peace by training a generation for war. So be it. let it come and be done.
