Bush response to Israeli response to killings

Reader comment on item: [The Road Map:] Learning from Oslo

Submitted by Seth Kaufman (United States), Jun 11, 2003 at 12:05

Bush seems to expect the Israelis to sit on their hands, much as they did when they were bombed by Iraq in another time, while Hamas kills Israelis and just this morning, a bus is bombed in central Jerusalem.

While Bush wasted no time in putting all the blame for the assassination attempt in Gaza, he has been less outraged by the attacks on Israelis. He might have trouble keeping Israel on the "road map" with his diplomatic ineptitude.
