Road map to Civil War

Reader comment on item: [The Road Map:] Learning from Oslo

I see the current roadmap to peace in the M.E. a good one.

I see an environment being set up for Palestinians who are sick of the fighting with Israel to establish a governing body free of Arafat and the terror groups. We know that ordinary Palestinians want to work and live free, not fight for Arafat. But they are scared of speaking out and being murdered by Arafat's thugs.

I think ordinary Palestinians know where the evil lies. It lies with the Palestinian Authority and with Arafat and his terror-thug-factions.

I see Bush, Sharon, King Abdullah II, and a few other Arab leaders pushing to eventually let Palestinians fight it out amongst themselves. A CIVIL WAR.

Jordan now trains a force of Jordanian-Palestinians loyal to the King, to eventually set up a security zone in south Jerusalem and Bethleham. Once they challenge the terror-thugs, it's on.

Bad as it may seem, this is the only way to peace. The terror factions must be erased.
If a civilian governing body of Palestinians takes on Arafat et al, we will see bloodshed, but it won't be done by Israel. The Palestinians must clean up their own mess.

Bush has stated numerous times that terrorists will NOT be let into the roadmap to peace. They will be SHUT OUT. Abbas stated that disarming the terror-factions in Palestine will lead to civil war. I think that is EXACTLY what Bush and the others are counting on.
