Peace is impossible.

Reader comment on item: [The Road Map:] Learning from Oslo

Submitted by Jay Vail (United States), Jun 10, 2003 at 13:28

As much as I would like to believe peace is possible in the Middle East, I cannot. The Palestinians and those who finance them (the Syrians, the Saudis) have one objective: the destruction of Israel and the reacquisition of that land for Dar-al-Islam. No peace plan will ever work until the backers of the Palestinians accept the right of Israel to exist. However, that prospect does not seem likely in our lifetimes. This plan will fail like all the others, destroyed by fanatics with bombs.
