Reader comment on item: [The Road Map:] Learning from Oslo

Submitted by Ely Silk (United States), Jun 11, 2003 at 01:58

Sadly, the events of the past two days show that the United States shares the view of the withdrawing Israelis. Withdraw, give up the land, don't fight back. The Palestinians must not be held to stopping their violence. Israel must be held to giving back land they hold, no matter what.

What is at stake here is the reelection of an American president. No amount of Jewish casualties must be allowed to interfere. The loss of a nation is little enough a price to pay for another four years.

This is one map that should have remained in the glove compartment, folded, wrinkled, and never to be looked at again.
