looting done by Saddam's people

Reader comment on item: [Looting:] An Iraqi Tragedy

Submitted by rick (United States), Apr 23, 2003 at 07:37

I firmly believe the forces that were most loyal to Saddam are still causing the bulk of the problems. They are fighting a war of public opinon now that they no longer have the military strength. I believe these entenched special gaurd or whatever they may be are instigating the anti-American speech. I also think they were instrumental in much of the worst looting in an attempt to make the US look worse in Arab eyes. Burning the buildings that may very well have held the most incriminating paper work. To think that the US should be guarding all possible targets while still in a war state is rediculous.
