LOOTING

Reader comment on item: [Looting:] An Iraqi Tragedy

Submitted by MARY ELLEN DAUBENBERGER (United States), Apr 23, 2003 at 17:47

It is so refreshing to read Mr. Pipes commentaries. They always make the most sense. I liken the lootings and burnings to incidents that happen in this country after some sporting events...if your team loses you cause mayhem in the streets, turn over cars, break windows, etc..if your team wins ...the same thing...so who is to blame the winning team? ..the losing team? Alas, it is always the crazies in the streets who do the dirty deeds...(which makes us look pretty uncivilized at times).
