Museum looting

Dear Dan,

I have already sent letter to a local paper suggesting that the diatribe against the coalition and especially the United States is unfounded. The simple reason being that Saddam Insane may have looted these treasures during his tenure as dictator. We have already experienced the looting of art treasures during WW2 by the Nazis.

Saddam has no regard for his people, why would he be interested in Art other than to loot it or defile it or just turn it into cash. Art collectors have notoriously been running their "private" collections bought through black markets for centuries. They could have bought these treasures and hidden them over the years, or they could have replaced them with copies or replicas. Who would know the difference? I know I wouldn't.
