For those who still don't believe that professors/teachers are "leftistly biased"
Reader comment on item: Profs Who Hate America

Submitted by Matthew (United States), Mar 23, 2003 at 18:58

1. A teacher at Citrus College encouraged her students to write letters to Bush regarding the Iraq war. One student was surprised to learn her letter expressing SUPPORT for Bush and the war wasn't what the teacher MEANT.

2. Teachers in Maine were discovered to be harrassing young students (some of them 7) whose parents are military or reservists. The kids were told their parents are "immoral" and "unethical."

3. There are some schools (in California, I think) that are trying to institute an ANTI WAR CIRRICULUM. Permanently.

4. The NEA took time out to protest a store in Florida who sells a brand of orange juice that advertised on Rush's show years ago. (This is what they're doing while the kids can't read.)

5. Numerous comments from college professors expressing support and admiration for the 9/11 attacks.

6. Last but not least, I went to college, and I recall the subtle indoctrinations. Some not so subtle, like an Anthropology professors describing how America ruins Third World countries and how the Founding Fathers were all bad. (The anti-Founders bit showed up on a test question even! It was easy to pass... just be as cynical as possible about America. That went for a couple Sociology classes I had, too. I was SUCH a grade grabber.) We students were pretty clueless that the professors actually had an agenda. We were surprised, in CRITICAL THEORY, to learn that most of the English department was Marxist. One unsuspecting girl asked "Do they KNOW they're Marxist?" :) Funny. The professor replied, "Yes, and they're going to try to bring you around to their thinking." This professor was a lesbian, so I rather doubt she was conservative... just very honest about what was REALLY going on.
