Another take on the revenge of the intellectuals

I agree largely with Jon Pfeffer. Something else, though not terribly sophisticated , occurred to me.

I sometimes wonder if the intellectuals/professors are the super-smart kids who had a tough time of it from a very young age as students in school --being made fun of, ignored, teased -- and now they're so over-educated that they're gonna use that to beat the rest of us simpletons who don't agree with them into submission with their impenetrable language. They get hostile and aggravated when we don't agree with their ideas. I see that in Eric Alterman a lot. And others of the same ilk.

It's weird to imagine these adults behaving so small and petty. Like they never grew up at all.
