Reader comment on item: Profs Who Hate America
in response to reader comment: US wants Oil ??

The war on Iraq will steady gas prices a few months from now until Shell or somebody else closes refineries and jacks up prices again. Where do we go from there? Find some oil rich African nation or someplace else to call EVIL and downplay that the CIA (read USA) armed the dictator to begin with. The "Play both sides, and get fanatics to fight the Commies for You" stratagy was a great way to way to shape the Cold War. If you ask Ollie North, he may say America's sovereignty is worth a little under the table action. No word as yet from the Gipper. I don't need professors telling me what is going on in the realm of world affairs to know that the United States holds the key to a future of true peace or one of conflict. Unfortunatley, today's youth do not see what has gone on in the world around them for the last 25 years. Patriotic or not, free thinking youth shall pick the torch up and carry it into the future -- not mindless zombies who never hear more than one side of the story.
