Reader comment on item: Profs Who Hate America

Submitted by Suzanne McIntosh (United States), Mar 31, 2003 at 04:03

I am American--and ashamed to be right now. The people of any country are not its government. All people want peace and justice, and all people everywhere deserve their human rights, their dignity, the chance at their dreams. It is the multi-national corporations, the IMF, the WTO, the governments that cause war, despair, human rights violations, social unrest.

I am physically ill over what is being done to the innocent Iraqi people. I write letters, protest, boycott American corporations, didn't vote for Bush, and think he is horrendous.

But what will change the world, is the people of the world rising up together to boycott corporations, continue to protest, and stay engaged in social activism. These worldwide peace organizations and protests will change the world if the people stay united for each other. I wish I could wave a magic wand and help all people everywhere, I want all people to be happy, free, to have opportunities and peace. Our freedoms are being eroded here in the US. The media is controlled, we are controlled.

I know that its the people who change the world. The global peace marchers of Feb 15th are the true heroes and leaders. The marches planned for 4/12 will be even bigger. We can change the world. My prayers are with the Iraqi people, people everywhere, and the American soliders who don't want to be over in Iraq hurting innocent people.

I am sorry for the whole world that this appointed "president" and his oil junta have divided the entire planet. I hope that people everywhere standing together can change the world to the just and peaceful place it could and should be.
