Shame on most academics

Reader comment on item: Profs Who Hate America

Submitted by John Doe (Canada), Feb 21, 2007 at 21:28

Dear Mr. Pipes,

I am a professor myself and must tell you how much I am ashamed of many of my colleagues. They are disconnected from reality, they don't know what is really going in the world; they tend to perceive the reality through faulty media channels. And the worst part is the fact that most of them do it not because they really believe those lies, but rather because that's what other people want them to say.

For them, an academic equals a "left-wing humanist", while whoever shares alternative views, myself included, is treated as an outcast. That's why 95% of them are PSEUDO-intellectuals and not real scholars. Since giving my initials might endanger my career, I remain anonymous.
