From what I hear of it, the moral equivalence is hardly helpful to winnng a war. It is part of a larger symptom which Mark Steyn caught just right: "in a conflict that's already lasted longer than America's participation in World War II, Hollywood still can't bring itself to make a film in which America's heroes whump America's enemies."
