The Strategic Uses Of SatireReader comment on item: Winning the Propaganda War [versus Radical Islam] Submitted by Seamus MacNemi (United States), Dec 30, 2005 at 18:33 I well know about the Nazi Roots Of Modern Islamic Extremism. The history of this movement is well documented. I also agree that satire and ridicule can be effective tools in the propaganda war against Radical Islam. The question I would ask is "Who has the real courage to use them in this age of political correctness"? The Islamists have in the past used threats of lawsuits and other methods of legaly sanctioned of censorship to quell criticism at any point. What's to keep them from doing the same in this case? So long as the law in America permits then to do so they will continue to undermine our efforts. I realize that the law was enacted to protect innocents but when the guilty can use it to stifle criticism then we all lose.Note: Opinions expressed in comments are those of the authors alone and not necessarily those of Daniel Pipes.
