Failure to Thrive

"More than facts, the Muslim world needs to understand the basics of what makes the West thrive – and thereby be inspired to emulate it."

The Muslim world has a perfectly good example (exactly in their midst) of what makes the West thrive -- Israel -- but mainly, they seem to want to annihilate what thrives. In no way are Muslims prepared to emulate anything vital. Instead, stagnancy, from all behavioral evidence, is far and away preferred to lives prudently lived. Forethought and future planning is completely unpracticed. Self-sacrifice is enacted with literal vengeance rather than sublimated generosity. The great oil-wealth has mostly been squandered on glitter. I'm afraid the 'lessons' the Muslims need to learn will substantially be delivered militarily. Only forces equal to the ignorant denial that grips the world of Islam (as Islam actually is) will authentically break the grip of this denial.

Related, mohamed m. seems rather optimistic about his language holding equal (superior?) status to the language of American culture (meaning English, by the way). This column is written in English Mohamed, have the common courtesy to write in the same language.
