TV Series 24 and ignorance

Reader comment on item: "24" and Hollywood's Discovery of Radical Islam

Submitted by Matt (United States), Dec 6, 2005 at 18:54

I have just watched the series 24, and I could not believe the arrogant yet stupidly ignorant illeteracy of the writer.

A Turkish terrorist, born in Izmir and his mother tongue is Arabic???????
In Izmir, with a population of close to four million, excluding the foreign missionaries and their kids, I doubt there is even one Turkish person whose mother tongue is Arabic...It could be Turkish, Kurdish, Greek, Hebrew, Armenian...

A Turkish terrorist family???

He should have had studied the history before alienating so many Turkish people and portraying them as terrorists...

This show is just another example of how the ignorance of some serves the interests and desires of enemy by unjustifiably portraying a nation and her people as terrorist.

Instead of making friends or strengthening the existing friendship against the enemy, this ignorance hurts the friendship and butters the bread of enemy.
