Islamic terrorism shown in TV entertainment

Reader comment on item: "24" and Hollywood's Discovery of Radical Islam

Submitted by Gary Newman (Israel), Jan 9, 2005 at 01:08

Dear Mr. Pipes,

I've been waiting for an article on the above topic, since we in Israel have been shown the TV series "The Agency" (about the CIA) for the last ½ year (more or less). At least ¾'s of the programs have been about some aspect of Islamic terrorism, and the "good guys" always seem to win in the end. I must say that I sleep better at night after having watched the weekly installment, which frequently (though not always) manages to surprise the viewer.

I guess I sound like a real right winger, but actually I'm a disillusioned left winger and see no end to the conflict that has gone on for much of the last 1,400 years. Keep up the good work.
