Midnight ExpressReader comment on item: "24" and Hollywood's Discovery of Radical Islam Submitted by Octavio Johanson (Italy), Jan 7, 2005 at 17:16 Is Midnight Express related to all of this? Yes, it is. Oliver Stone and Alan Parker exposed the Turks as a nation who lacks the concepts of "mercy and fair-play". Brad Davis exposed Turkish viciousness and double-standards. Their dishonesty and cruelty.Daniel Pipes, Samuel P. Huntington and other Western commentators can write as many articles as they want about Militant Islam, but their efforts would be dwarfed by a movie on the subject. Where is Steven Spielberg when people need him? Where is Oliver Stone? He did a great job with Midnight Express. What about making a movie about the 9/11attacks? One on Bali? On on Madrid? The Cannes movie festival should not just reward liberals like Michael Moore. Come on Hollywood, give us a movie about the Theo Van Gogh assassination! Get the best actors together and tell us about the Christian persecution in Sudan. GIVE US ANOTHER MIDNIGHT EXPRESS Note: Opinions expressed in comments are those of the authors alone and not necessarily those of Daniel Pipes. Original writing only, please. Reasoned disagreement is welcome but not comments that are scurrilous, off-topic, commercial, disparaging religions, or otherwise inappropriate.
