Reader comment on item: "24" and Hollywood's Discovery of Radical Islam

Submitted by Donald O. (United States), Jan 10, 2005 at 21:53

Why shouldn't violent goons be exposed for the nonsense they believe in? I mean Italians have been forced to laugh at stereo-typical sicilian gangstas for the past 40+ years of TV/movies whether they like it or not and been made to think the stereo-type applies [and is admired & glamorized] to over 100+ million people of Italian ancestry (for the few it applied to).

So why would islam and Muslims be exempt from a little fun? Oh... it's a religion.... We can't hurt the feelings if it's related to religious minds? What kind of insanity is that? A cult of throat-cutters should be protected from any scrutiny because they lay claim to the insane rantings of a madman that can never be characterized or postulated upon? I think the Hollywood tycoons and the members of the 'film actors guild' are just trembling in fear they will be just like Theo Van Gogh one morning on a set somewhere. They would like to have Kiefer Sutherland and the others involved with this type of project to do so in fear of their lives. Only time will tell if the West and America will ever decide to do something about these type threats.
