Wahhabism vs. Islam

Reader comment on item: "24" and Hollywood's Discovery of Radical Islam

Submitted by Melinda S (United States), Jan 11, 2005 at 04:40

Please note that Wahhabism is the terrorist form of Islam; traditional Islam is not a violent religion! ... But wait, aren't the Saudis our "friends"? For heaven's sake, America needs to get on the right track and deal with problems a better way than driving the country into a deficit with scapegoats like Iraq. And stop supporting other countries over the rest. For example: Israel. It's a first-world country, for heaven's sake. Second, Saudi Arabia. If the Saudis withdrew their assets from the US stock market, it would collapse. And if they stopped selling oil to the US... There is no way that America can fight an effective "war on terror"[ism] (since of course you can't fight "terror," i.e. "fear") on the course it is currently. All it's doing is increasing anti-Americanism around the world - and not just in Muslim and Arab countries, as a matter of fact.
